Open source icons (ISC and MIT). Others can use the same icon, so a symbol mark is less unique than a monogram or an abstract mark.
Layout
A biotech company name often goes on a building, so letters need open counters and steady weight to read as raised metal from the sidewalk. Plan a long horizontal version for vehicle sides.
